Description

The programme that the ILG runs is initiated five years ago. The ILG is established drawing experiences from France, Germany, India, Thailand and Syria. The ILG was established with the aim of filling the gap in leadership: shortage of competent leaders in the public sector at national and local levels. The programme run by ILG is assumed to be serving the purpose of building the leadership capacity of public organizations (civil service). The results of this programme and its training will be making available more committed, knowledgeable, skilled and ethical future leaders for the civil service. With transformed attitudes, the civil servants in the civil service serve the system, citizens and the nation in effective and efficient manner. This will initiate results in the implementation of the GTP and related plans in the country. For this to happen, effective project initiation, appraisal, planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation is critical.

This entails theoretical knowledge and practical skills of effective and efficient project management. This knowledge and skills are essential for the mobilization and management of scarce public resources: material, financial, human, and institutional and competencies. This module equips participants with project initiation, appraisal, planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation knowledge and skills at the end of the module.

Prerequisites & Requirements

Bachelor degree in introduction to management and leadership and organizational Behavior, leadership and good governance

Exit Level Outcomes

By the end of the module, the students are expected to:

  •  understand the concept of leadership and change.
  • know the quality of leadership;
  •  successfully mange the change; 
  • develop effective team building; 
  • analyze the resistance and proposed solution and communicate effectively.
