Description

The program aims at satisfying the need for public financial managers who are capable of managing the public funds efficiently and of controlling the public expenditure of the country in such a way that the public resources are utilized efficiently to provide the people of the country with maximum benefits. This program also aims at strengthening the skills of civil servants in public financial management by providing them an opportunity to study relevant courses that are relevant their field of operation.

Prerequisites & Requirements

In order to secure an admission to the bachelor degree program in public financial management, the applicant must be:

  1. preparatory graduates or diploma holders eligible to join higher education
  2. civil servants sponsored by public institutions
  3. pass escu entrance exam for the program and
  4. others who come through alternative admission programs of the university as decided by the university board.

Exit Level Outcomes

  •  prepare financial plan and reports both at national and regional level
  • analyze the financial performance of the government entities
  • design the system for the efficient utilization and controlling of public funds
  •  participate in tax administration and in assessing and auditing tax as a source of revenue for the government
  • design system for different budgeting and performance evaluation
  • advice how to manage public resources and public debt
  • evaluate project and other investment portfolio
  • design an internal control system for establishing public accountability of public debts
  • apply computerized financial management information system to provide the users with relevant financial data and report
  • conduct research on issues related to public financial management in the regions and at federal level and
  • understand high level of ethical standards in all levels of public engagements
