Description

The Ph.D. in Public Management program equips students with critical management skills essential for effective governance and nonprofit operations, particularly in resource-constrained environments. This innovative degree emphasizes the shared objectives of the governmental and nonprofit sectors, preparing future leaders to address complex public sector challenges and implement reforms that enhance citizen satisfaction in service delivery. The curriculum is designed for working professionals, allowing for full-time coursework that includes discipline-specific courses, advanced analytical techniques, and public policy analysis in the first 1.5 years. Students will then focus on developing their dissertation proposals and conducting research over the following 2.5 years. Throughout the program, students engage in projects that tackle real-world challenges, refining their project management and analytical skills. Developed by the Ethiopian Civil Service University, this program aims to strengthen the capacity of civil servants and support national development plans, ultimately contributing to Ethiopia’s transformation and progress.

Prerequisites & Requirements

Candidates must hold a master's degree or an equivalent qualification from an accredited university in management, economics, marketing, public administration, human resource management, leadership, governance, development, or related fields, as approved by the Curriculum and Academic Standards Committee.
