Description

The program addresses the acute shortage of trained procurement and asset management specialists in Ethiopia. It aims to develop professionals who can transform procurement systems to improve efficiency and uphold ethical standards, in line with government reforms aimed at achieving economic efficiency and cost-effectiveness.

Program Outcomes:
Graduates will qualify for roles such as:

  1. Policy analyst for procurement and asset management systems
  2. Designer of procurement strategies
  3. Strategic planning specialist for both public and private sectors
  4. Procurement management specialist (national/international)
  5. Asset life-cycle management specialist

Prerequisites & Requirements

Bachelor's degree in relevant fields (e.g., Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Finance, Business Administration)። Follow the application procedures established by the University’s Admission Office.

Exit Level Outcomes

On completion of the program, graduates will be able to:

  • Analyze and contribute to the application of the country's fiscal policies.
  • Explain the rationale behind government interventions in the economy.
  • Understand international trade concepts and apply international commercial terms (Incoterms) in foreign procurement processes.
  • Design and implement effective procurement and asset management systems.
  • Provide informed input to policymakers on amending procurement and asset management policies and procedures.
  • Apply procurement and asset management rules and regulations to optimize resource utilization and promote good governance.
  • Prepare and manage procurement requirements and plans, including conducting spend analysis.
  • Design and implement management strategies for assets, including intellectual property, adhering to relevant laws and organizational policies.
  • Develop and manage efficient supply chain and logistics systems within organizations.
  • Create and manage effective warehouse management systems.
  • Conduct feasibility studies for public projects and design resource flow for project execution.
  • Perform financial management operations efficiently in public, private, and non-governmental organizations.
  • Prepare and manage budgets and control reports for both public and private sectors.
  • To manage the budgets of public sector and Non-Profit making institutions with budgetary control report.
  • Effectively apply asset life-cycle management principles within organizations.
  • Undertake applied scientific research related to procurement and asset management systems.
