Training Topic: Governance, Democracy and Development
Objectives of the training: At the end of the training program participants will:
- Be familiar with the basic concepts of development;
- Appreciate the role of globalization and be actors in the process of development;
- Understand the importance of good governance, know what democracy and democratization,
- be familiar with how democracy and development are interlinked; and
- Understand how capacity building serves as a strategy to enhance development.
Contents of the training: Concepts of Development, The Roles of Actors in Development, Good Governance, Democracy and Development, Capacity Building and Development
Duration: 4 days
Target Audience: Participants of the training are top, middle and lower level leaders and professionals of federal and regional public sector organizations.
Mode of delivery: The training will be interactive based on group work, exercises, case studies related to organizational and self-experiences of trainees. In each case, effort is made to relate the concept to the Ethiopian situation and challenges of Governance, Democracy and Development on the ground.
