Position: Assistant/ Associate /Full Professor - full-time position. (Part-time engagement is also negotiable), in lectureship / Professorship in each of the following fields:

• Good Governance, Democracy and Development,
• Development Policy and Strategy
• Security and Peace Building
• Change Management and Leadership in Public Services
• Youth, Women, Skill development and Entrepreneurship
• Comparative Public Law and Good Governance
• Pastoralism & Socio-economic Transformation
• E-Governance and Information Management
• Development Strategy and Communication
• Environmental and Resources Governance

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Didactic design for masters and PhD modules;
• Deliver instruction for MA students and PhD candidates;
• Continuous and summative assessment of academic performance for MA students and PhD candidates ;
• Supervise MA students during internship;
• Supervise dissertation and thesis writing for MA students and PhDcandidates
• Participate in curriculum design and review for the MA and PhD programs
• Participate in policy/ordinance design for the Institute;
• Participate in research projects/initiatives of the Institute in collaboration with other researchers/ institutes;
• Participate in workshops and symposia of the Institute;
• Contribute to conceptual development of annual colloquia series;
• Supervise the production of an annual anthology of essays by students/candidates
• Organize and participate in student/lecturer exchange programmes with collaborating institutions.

• English is the medium of communication, teaching, research and publications.

  Employment: beginning 1st of March 2015 until position is filled.

Requirements

Academic Qualifications:

• A doctoral degree in Political Science or Development Studies or Economics or Public Administration/ Management (or related field) is desirable,
• Expertise and research in any of the disciplines above are prerequisites,
• Training in pedagogical science, curriculum development and education technology is an advantage.

Work Experience:

• A minimum of 5 years of proven outstanding record in teaching and research experience at graduate school level
• Publication in peer reviewed international journals
• Work experience in and/or knowledge of the East African region;
• Experience in working in multicultural and multidisciplinary settings;
• Familiarity and/or interest in e-learning, developing teaching materials, and online tutorial
