Graduation is a special and significant day for graduates: it is a day to celebrate the achievement of years of hard work with families and friends, and it is a day that will be remembered for the rest of one's life.
Research is used to discover new knowledge and test existing knowledge. Research is important because without it we would not figure how anything works or how anything is made .There would be no advances in science and technology or anything else. The Ethiopian Civil Service University was driven by these facts and considered research as one of its core businesses and is working accordingly. The University has so far conducted four conferences through which different research papers were presented and later published in its two journals and proceedings.
A workshop on Public Procurement in Ethiopia as well as the challenges revolving around it and the antidotes recommended for over-coming the challenges was held on 2 July 2012 at renaissance hall of ECSU's main campus. The workshop was jointly organized by the Federal Public Procurement Agency (FPPA)and ECSU's Procurement Department under the Institute of Tax and Administration (ITCA).
An on- line and face- to- face training on didactical design jointly organized by Center for Academic and Professional Development( CAPD) and Development and Learning Center (DLC) was held at the center from 27-28 June 2012.
The training had brought together 74 participans comprising institute directors, department heads, senior lecturers and consultants engaged in the teaching and learning process.
"The training was first-rate. It was by common sense I used to work. Now I have turned a well-versed and a full-fledged librarian. I feel like tapping my potential. I am eager to be deployed on the front line so that I headlong engage in better serving clients of ECSU's library."
A representative of 24 ECSU's library staff, who took 80 hours long theoretical and practical training on classification of books, cataloging and customers service, so expressed gratification on 29 June 2012 up on receiving certificates.
