Eighth Nations, Nationalities and Peoples Day Warmly Celebrated at ECSU

ECSU President Urges Newly Joining Female Students to Become Role Models

President of ECSU Dr. Hailemichael Aberra, urged female students that are newly joining the university to become role models to other women civil servants, their families and children.The president made the remark at an event organized on November 27, 2013 to welcome female students who came from the four emerging regions, Afar, Benishagul Gumuz, Gambella and Somali, who are beneficiaries of the ECSU special admission program that is aimed at building the capacity of women civil servants in the four states.

Chinese Academy of Governance Delegation visit ECSU

Chinese Academy of Governance delegation led by Mr. Hong Yi, Vice President of the Academy, paid a working visit to Ethiopian Civil Service University on November 20, 2013. The delegation discussed with Management council of ECSU in a variety of issues. Academic Vice President of ECSU, Dr. Samson Kassahun on the occasion expressed ECSU`s readiness to work with Chinese Academy of Governance.

ILG Holds Workshop on Leadership and Governance Challenges

ECSU’s Institute of Leadership and Good Governance (ILG) held a workshop on leadership and governance challenges to the promotion of security and development in the Horn of Africa in collaboration with Cranfield University.

Director of ILG Dr. Waqgari Negari said that the objective of the workshop was to enhance researches in the areas of good governance and development in partnership with concerned ministries and organizations towards addressing good governance and leadership challenges on a sustainable basis. “he added.

Training on Financial Management of World Bank Financed Projects

Training aimed at aligning the financial management system of the World Bank with that of the government of Ethiopia was launched on Monday, November 18, 2013 at ECSU. Opening the training, Country Director of the World Bank for Ethiopia, Guang Z. Chen, said that

" the training would raise the awareness of the participants on the financial management systems, rules and regulations of both the World Bank and the government, so that civil servants who work in projects financed by the World Bank are able to align them without neglecting either of them."
