DLC finalizes the first face-to-face training in eight towns

The ECSU Development Learning Center (DLC) finalized the first face-to–face training it conducted in eight regional towns. The center agreed with the German NGO, GIZ, to launch blended mode of training for eight towns in the country early in 2013. The towns include Debremarkos, Nekemte, Assosa, Gambella, Mekelle, Jigjiga, Semera and Yirgalem.

The 2013 Graduates of ECSU Donate 10,000 Birr for the Grand Renaissance Dam

Chairman of the Editorial Board of the 2013 Graduation Bulletin, Dereje Bekele, said,

“After we have the graduation bulletin published, we were left with 10,000 Birr and we discussed and decided to donate the money for the construction of the Grand Renaissance Dam. All 1352 graduates made their contribution.”

Ethiopian Civil Service University Graduates 1352 civil servants

Speaking on the occasion, the guest of honor, Muktar Kedir, with the rank of Deputy Prime Minister Good Governance and Reform Cluster Coordinator and Minister of Civil Service said

"The Ethiopian Civil Service University, as the only higher education institution in the country that has the exclusive responsibility of building the capacity of the civil service; has become successful in accomplishing its mission."

Micro finance TOT will be conducted at Ethiopian Civil Service University Development Learning Center

The ECSU development learning center in collaboration with Japan development learning center is about to conduct an international accredited training of trainers on micro finance. The training will take place from July/2013 to October/2013

The training will be conducted though E-learning and videoconferencing. In order to receive an internationally accredited certificate, the participants are required to submit 11 assignments and take and pass the final exam.

Certificates given to Fire Prevention and Fighting Trainees

Certificates were given to twenty nine participants of a five-day fire prevention and fire fighting training on June 28, 2013.

The training was conducted by the Addis Ababa Fire and Emergency Prevention and Rescue Agency and Training Institute from April 15-19, 2013.

Speaking on the occasion, Head of ECSU Center for Academic and Professional Development (CAPD), Yeayneabeba Andualem said, “A fire accident can destroy lots of resources at once and the scar it leaves cannot be easily removed. We have to prevent such accidents before they occur.”
