The third Development forum, the series of Development Discussion Forums at ECSU, held on 24th January, 2014, in Development Learning Center of ECSU with a theme "The Role of Tacit and Explicit Knowledge."
HIV and AIDS Management Unit of ECSU undertook Community Conversation ( CC )with Estate and General Service Department staff on January 24, 2014. Community Conversation was held for half day and the objective of the Community Conversation was to discuss on the basics of HIV/AIDS and how the trainees can protect themselves, their families and the community from HIV/AIDS. Among the participants, eleven of them were male and the rest 19 were females. The Community Conversation is believed to enhance their awareness on how to bring AIDS free environment in their work place.
"I am greatly honored to be the first PhD graduate of the University. It is very exciting moment for me and ECSU as well, as it is the first milestone in the university. " Mesfin Tilaye, the first PhD graduate of the University, said this in a cocktail party prepared to honor the University`s achievement in graduating the first PhD student in its history, January 23, 2014. Mesfin advised his colleagues, "Studying at PhD level has its own ups and dawns, but you have to have the endurance to see its fruits".
The Family of the late Dr. Kahsay Adem, donated more than 268 types of books to Ethiopian Civil Service University on 22th January, 2014 in the presence of institute directors and different academic and administrative staff of the University and family members. Representing the family, W/ro Tsehay Adem, sister of the late Dr. Kahsay Adem handed over the books to the University president.
Ethiopian Civil Service University Center for Gender and Development organized an event to mark International Day of Persons with Disability (IDPwD) on January 3, 2014 at the University`s main campus. Dr. Hailemichael Abera President of ECSU, academic and administrative staff, and staff and students with disability attended the ceremony.
