The Ethiopian Civil Service University Institute of Urban Development Studies conducted a consultative meeting with the Canadian Urban Institute to establish a partnership on October 21, 2004. On this consultative meeting director and deputy director of the Institute, department heads and a team led by Ato Teferra Sileshi, Canadian Urban Institute Project Manager to Ethiopia, participated.

The Institute of Leadership and Good Governance 2nd year co-curricular activity club members organized a fun-filled and colorful welcoming ceremony for the new students who joined the Institute in 2011 academic year. The main purpose of the ceremony was to introduce the new students to their teachers and senior students as well as to make them familiar with the institute.
The Ethiopian Civil Service University Institute of Leadership and Good Governance welcome all new students of the Institute on October 7, 2011. The key goal of the orientation program is to make sure that all new students are aware of the university and the institute rules,regulations, procedures, processes in advance and to gain information about their courses,before they start their classes.
