Internal Audit Department

  • Monitor implementation of allotted budget to the University,
  • Monitor and control plans and plan implementation of the University.
  • Provide professional advice and consultancy to University management and division heads,
  • Work towards adding value to the activities of the University,
  • Create awareness about internal audit systems among staff of the University, and
  • Practice performance audit in the University

Duties and Responsibilities

The Audit department Head is accountable to the University President and has the following duties and responsibilities

  1. Plans coordinates and directs the activities of Audit Department
  2. Follow-up on the proper expending of fund
  3. Ensures that funds and resources are utilized according to government regulation,
  4. Evaluates the condition of the property of the University and make recommendations for repair and maintenance, and for replacement.
  5. Audits debits and credits of the University; develops systems for the proper utilization of University property;
  6. Provides advise on the proper implementation of University plans and programs
  7. Coordinates the office of Audits Departments.
  8. Evaluates Staff in the Audit Department.
  9. Submits Quarter Reports to the president.
  10. Carries Out Such Other duties assigned to him-her by the president;
  11. Provides periodic reports to the president.
  12. Provides consulting activities;

The Audit Department has Two Teams namely:

  1. Finance &Property Audit Team,
  2. Performance Audit Team.

 I. The finance and property audit Team leader (FPATL)

Directly accountable to the Audit department Head with the following duties and responsibilities:

  • Plans, Coordinates and directs the activities of Finance and property Team;
  • Audits the proper expending of funds;
  • Audits the funds and resources are utilized according to government Rules and regulation;
  • provides advise on the proper Implementation of collage plans and programs;
  • Submits Quarter reports to the Audit Department Head;
  • carries out such other duties assigned to him/her by the Audit Department Head,
  • Provides consulting activities;

The Finance & Property Audit Team  is directly accountable to the Finance and Property Audit team leader with the following  duties and responsibilities:

  • To achieve the University’s goal and objectives audits the proper  expending of funds and properties;
  • Audits funds and properties are utilized according the government rules and regulations;
  • Control over cashes and suspense as well as submit draft report to the team leader’
  • Check whether the designed internal control system is functioning or not;
  • Audits Recurrent, Capital, Continuing and Distance Education (ICDE);
  • Provides consulting activities;
  • Cary out such other duties assigned to him/her by the Finance & Property Team Leaders;

II. The performance audit team leader (PATL) 

Directly accountable to audit department head with the following duties and responsibilities:

  • Plans, coordinates and direct the activities of performance team;
  • Evaluates Transfer, Promotion and Requirement of the University staff according to the government regulations;
  • Evaluates the University’s plan performance whether it is achieved or not;
  • Submits quarter reports to the audit department head;
  • Carries out such other duties assigned to him/her by the audit department head;

The Performance Audit Team is directly accountable to the performance audit team leaders with the following duties and responsibilities:

  • To achieve the University’s goal and objectives, check the overall internal control system designed functioning or not;
  • Evaluates the Finance & Property and Procurement systems are functioning according to the government rules & regulations;
  • Evaluates the University’s  BSC plan, performances achieved or not;
  • Evaluate the University’s transfer, promotion, recruirements of the staff according to the government rules and regulations;
  • Submit draft reports to the team leaders;
  • Provides consulting Activities;
  • Carry out such other duties assigned to him/her by the Performance Audit Team Leader
