Training on " Basics of HIV/AIDS and its impacts" Given
HIV and AIDS Management Unit of ECSU gave a half day training to 150 staffs and teachers of Wonderad Primary School on May 8, 2014. Among the participants of the training, 100 of them were female and the rest 50 were male. In the training the impact of HIV and AIDS was discussed from individuals, family and community perspectives. The training is believed to enhance the trainees’ knowledge and attitude which would give them insights of the impact of HIV/AIDS and how to prevent the spread and effects of HIV and AIDS epidemic in their school community and workplace as a whole.
In the occasion some participants reflected on the importance of the training. They suggested that ECSU HAMU should continue its commendable efforts of its sensitization training and community outreach services and capacity building training to the surrounding schools and community.
HIV/AIDS Training and Research Coordinator, Anteneh Mekonnen , and Ms.Wubalem Arefaine Social Mobilization and Mainstreaming Expert facilitated the session.
