The 13th Nations, Nationalities and Peoples Day Celebrated at ECSU
The 13th Nations, Nationalities and Peoples Day Celebrated jointly by Civil Service Commission and its answerable institutions on December 7, 2018 at Ethiopian Civil Service University Abay Hall. The day was celebrated with a theme “Ethiopia’s Unity, Exalted by Diversity”.
On his opining speech Ato Bezabih Gebrehiwot, Civil Service Commission Commissioner, said it is a day that we express our respect and loyalty to our nations, nationalities and people who have stand together and strongly held their identities for centuries and handed over it to our generation. Our people lived for a long time holding its diversity within the sense that of oneness. But recently we are experiencing some problems in different places due to the extreme nationalist ideas that erode our long culture of living together in harmony and unity. For this ,we need to be more alert and keep our unity and long standing tradition, Ato Bezabih, underscored.
Ato Bezabih also requested that the civil servants must play their important role to ensure the benefit of the people, guarantee good governance and fairness, and transparency for the nation at large.
On the program a paper entitled “Multi Nationalism, Tolerance and Reconciliation for Our National Unity” were presented by Ato Aschalew Tekle from the House of the Federation. On his presentation, Ato Aschalew pointed out the roles of civil service institutions, religious and cultural institutions, media, women, youth scholars and artistes in resolving conflicts and retaining the national unity. The house held an extensive discussion on the issues raised by presenter.
On the program Ethiopian Civil Service Commission, Ethiopian Civil Service University, Ethiopian Kaizen Institutes and Ethiopian Management Institute communities participated.
