The 3rd National Flag Day Celebrated at ECSC
The Ethiopian Civil Service College staffs and students celebrated the 3rd Ethiopian National Flag Day at the college’s main premises on September 20, 2010 with the theme “Defeating poverty and handing over the pride to the next generation".
Addressing the gathering Dr. Haile-Michael Aberra, President of the College said that
"our Flag is the real representation of equality in diversity, unity, solidarity and justice. Hence, every one of us should understand what it means for us."
He added celebrating such kind of events will give us a room to think ahead for a tremendous commitment and hard work in alleviating poverty and ensuring the renaissance of our country.
Dr. Haile-Michael further said Ethiopia is a country of assortment in which peoples are living equally and work for mutual development, benefits and democratization. As
Dr. Haile-Michael said
"we are living in a competitive world, we should exert our efforts to defeat poverty, and become competent in every aspect and give our word to the implementation of the growth and transformation Plan for the next five years."
The Staff attended the event in live transmission from Addis Ababa Stadium. At 10:30, the flag was hoisted and the staffs and students of the College sang the National Anthem of Ethiopia.
In this tremendous day, the nations, nationalities and peoples of Ethiopia will verify the representation of their independence, equality in diversity, unity and solidarity in their National Flag.
