About 20 ECSU faculty members are attending their PhD under the NICHE/ETH/020 project
The Netherlands Initiative for Capacity development in Higher Education (NICHE) is a Netherlands-funded development cooperation programme aimed at strengthening institutional capacity of higher education system by supporting the development of faculty staff and qualitative training provision and research.
Ethiopian Civil Service University is executing NICHE/ETH/020 project, Tilburg University Development Research Institute (IVO) to build the capacity of teachers. The project NICHE/ETH/020 is targeted on building the capacity of participating universities in Ethiopia, of which Ph D program is one of the components of the project.
About 20 ECSU students, who are currently attending their Ph D program in the Netherlands, held a half day discussion on the current status of interactions between Ph D candidates and their supervisors and the progress of their proposal with Dr. Bertha Vallejo on October 2, 2012 at ECSU premise. During the discussion each students shared their status and the challenges they faced while pursuing their study.
On the occasion the coordinator of the program Dr. Bertha said
"the performance of all candidates drawn from ECSU is encouraging and all students should continue working hard so as to accomplish the project as per the schedule. "
Dr Bertha finally thanked the warmest welcome that she received from the management of ECSU and promised to continue her unreserved support on behalf of Tilburg University-Development Research Institute (IVO).
