Center Holds 13th In- Campus Seminar
Ethiopian Civil Service University, Center for Research in Ethics and Integrity organized its 13th in-campus Seminar on May 29/2019 at Hidasse Hall. The seminar was held with a theme “The Role of Soft Skills in Transforming Society and Redeeming Nation".
Dr. Gebeyaw Tiruneh a speaker on the seminar explained the importance of soft skills in transforming the society and meeting the public interest. According to him the ultimate goal of intellectuals is serving the public interest. Intellectuals should be an assistance to government and society who are required to formulate policies and implement measures in the public interest. Neglecting soft skills in organizational and personal activities hinders the successful achievement of goal in the overall transformation of the society. For this the combination of cognitive knowledge with hard skills must be substantiated with the soft skills in order to get a practical and desired results in the society, Dr. Gebeyaw underscored.
Dr. Gebeyaw Tiruneh is a global public health specialist and senior health systems consultant with extensive experience and management skills in establishing health care facilities and training institutes. Dr. Gebeyaw Tiruneh has extensive experiences in public and private sectors as well as public-private mix programs. His expertise also includes working in collaboration with many multilateral and bilateral organizations like USAID, CDC, WHO, GIZ etc.
Finally Dr. Alemayehu Debebe thanked Dr. Gebeyaw Tiruneh for his presentation and sharing his views and experiences to the university community and awarded him a certificate of participation.
