CGAD Organizes Training
Ethiopian Civil Service University Center for Gender and Development organized a two days training to 2014/2015 Academic year new entrant female students. The training was given in two rounds for one day each- for Female students from the four emerging regions and female students from other regions.
The objective of the training is to acquaint the students with the university life and help them adapt to new situation. According to Abay Akemachew, Head of Center for Gender and Development many of the students are believed to face some social and academic challenges as they are new to university life. Many of them had been distant from educations for some time. So adjusting to an academic setting can be difficult for them. We try to build their confidence so that they can cope with difficulties they face, said Abay.
Some seventy students from the emerging regions and more than thirty students from other regions attended the training.
W/ro Azeb Assefa, consultant at Center for Gender and Development has given the training.
