CUDE to Launch New Undergraduate Programs
Ethiopian Civil Service University ,College of Urban Development and Engineering (CUDE) of ECSU has announced plans to launch two new undergraduate programs, BSc in Transport Planning and Engineering and BSc in Real Property Valuation. The curricula of these programs were presented for validation in the presence of academia, stakeholders and invited participants.
In his key note address on the validation workshop of the curriculum held on August 28, 2019 at Hiddasse Hall, Dr. Daniel Lirebo, Dean of CUDE said the launching of these programs has an important role to fill the gaps existing in the areas and contributes towards public servants capacity building for sustainable economic growth in order to achieve the vision and mission of ECSU as articulated in its legislation. According to him Transport planning and Engineering and Planning and Real Property Valuation are serious problems in urban centers of Ethiopia. An important driver of these new curricula has been the attempt to focus more explicitly on the outcomes of building the capacity of public servants to make a better fit between the knowledge, skills and competence obtained by graduates and the industry. For these reasons, the validation workshop is believed to look closely at how curricula can create effective link between teaching, learning, research and how to benefit concerned stakeholders, ministers and regional bureaus, Dr. Daniel noted.
Dr. Daniel expressed his thanks to Department of Urban Transport and Infrastructure Provision and Management and Department of Housing and Real Estate Property Valuation and the organizers of the workshop. He also extended his thanks to external reviewers, stakeholders and participants on the workshop.
