Disability Affairs Unit organizes a reception program
ECSU Disability Affairs Unit prepared a welcoming program to new students with disabilities on October 20, 20016 at the main campus of the university.
W/ro Abay Akemachew Director for Center for Cross-cutting Issues Training and Consultancy said on the program this journey will consist of challenges, frustrations, and memories that you will take forward with you through the rest of your life. Remember one thing- you can coup up the challenges you face –and you can reach to the place you need.
“You can move forward saying “I can do it”. Education opens up doors necessary to make an impact on the world you live so adjust with the environment always you face .You can change the believes of the society and work with other students .We are ready to help you at any time and place ‘’she emphasized .
Ato Beker Haji, Director for Guidance and Counseling Unit gave lesson to the students on how they solve problems while staying at ECSU. ‘The unit is ready to help you at any time when need arise and the university community also supports you in any circumstance,’ he added.
Kumneger Fikre, head of the Disability Affairs Unit, said the Unit works hard to improve access and encourage full participation of students and provide disability related services with disabilities and assist students with a range of specialist services and resources.
The unit prepared the program to aware new students with disabilities to have the information of what the Disability Affairs Unit does. Students with disability shared their experiences and opportunities to their peers during the programs.
