DLC finalizes the first face-to-face training in eight towns
The ECSU Development Learning Center (DLC) finalized the first face-to–face training it conducted in eight regional towns. The center agreed with the German NGO, GIZ, to launch blended mode of training for eight towns in the country early in 2013. The towns include Debremarkos, Nekemte, Assosa, Gambella, Mekelle, Jigjiga, Semera and Yirgalem. The objectives of the training is to raise the awareness of town experts on town reforms so that they could provide better services and plan on how to enhance revenue.
The first face-to-face training gave highlights to the participants on capital investment and revenue enhancement planning for two days and one day for IT related training for each town. The training is also supported by local video-conferencing and e-learning program. The 160 participants from these towns are expected to finalize the assignment, take and pass exams to get certificate from the university.
