ECSU’s Employees Registered Their Assets
Ethiopian Civil Service University senior leaders and other employees who have obligation to do so registered their assets on April 4, 2011 in response to the proclamation for the disclosure and registration of assets by Federal Ethics and Anti Corruption Commission. In the occasion held at the commission’s head office Dr.Samson Kassahun vice president for Academic Development, Institutes and Centers Directors, different academic and admin divisions heads and other employees whose task is related to making decisions on public finances and assets registered their assets.
According to the proclamation, any elected person, political appointee or public servant shall have the obligation to disclose and register the assets under the ownership or possession of himself and his family and sources of his income and those of his family in pursuant to the proclamation.
Asked about the importance of disclosure of assets, Ato Gebre Tibebu,the University’s Ethics and Anti Corruption Liaison Office Head said the asset disclosure and registration act would have paramount importance to curb corruption in the country which in turn brings mutual trust between the public and the government. Ato Gebre also said we are happy that we discharged our responsibility for the success of the proclamation -disclosure and registration of assets.
