ECSU and Komboicha City Administration Sign Cooperation Agreement
Ethiopian Civil Service University and Kombolcha City Administration Signed Cooperation Agreement on 10 April 2017 at ECSU Senate Hall.
On the signing program Professor Fikre Dessalegn, Ethiopian Civil Service University president, said kombolcha is one of the the fast growing town selected as industrial towns in Ethiopia. In connection with this fact, it is expected to accommodate a great influx of residents and job seekers coming to the town in the future. Taking this into account, it is very important to have a well organized urban plan in infrastructure, green urban development, housing and sanitation and transportation networks. Because of this, the cooperation agreement that we sign today is timely and by fulfilling all the necessary preconditions we are ready to proceed to its implementation, Professor Fikre Dessalegn noted. ECSU stands by the side of the city administration in all its capacity to implement the master plan in fully standardized and qualitative manner professor Fikre added. He also thanked the city administration for showing their interest to work with the Ethiopian Civil Service University.
Ato Deneke Mitiku mayor of Kombolcha city administration on his part said a well organized urban planning is very important to tackle the problems that affect social and economic well beings of the society. Taking this into consideration, Kombolcha city administration is revising the previous master plan and trying to accommodate the current situations that come with the growth and development of the town. To enable the town entertain the coming big projects, Ethiopian Civil Service University has contributed a lot in identifying the city problems and advising the mechanisms to tackle these problems. The city administration is ready to work with ECSU, in a great commitment and spirit of ownership for the implementation of the project Ato Deneke said.
It is learnt from the program that the city master plan project costs more than 4.3 million birr.
