ECSU Community celebrates the 10th National Flag Day
Ethiopian Civil Service University community celebrated the 10th National Flag Day at the main campus of the university on Monday October 16, 2017. The day was also celebrated with the theme “we set a vision, and strive for a superior success.” at national level.
On the occasion Professor Fikre Dessalegn, Ethiopian Civil Service University president, said throughout the time National Flag served as a symbol of our identity and sovereignty. It has also been a source of pride and national feelings for all Ethiopians. Our ancestors lived and died defending the national flag. Our heroic athletes also carry our flag at the sport arena as a symbol of pride and dignity. They always make us proud by waving our national flag in front of the whole world. All these show that we Ethiopians have a great respect for our national flag Professor Fikre underscored.
He also noted that the government of Ethiopia is now working hard to ensure and maintain fast growing economy and the development of the country and make Ethiopia middle income country in few years. Many changes in the political, social and economic sphere have been registered in the last few years. To further strengthen this development we must stand together and strive to realize the Ethiopian renascence, Professor Fikre added.
Finally the ECSU community reaffirmed their commitment for peace, development and realization of the nation’s renaissance by pledging in front of the national flag. Ethiopians have been celebrating National Flag Day for the last nine years and it is believed that the celebration of Flag Day initiated Ethiopians to intensify the development journey rallying behind their National Flag.
