ECSU Community Celebrates 11th Public Service Day
Ethiopian Civil Service University community celebrated the eleventh national public service day colorfully on June 15, 2017 at Abay Hall. The day was celebrated with a theme “Ethical public servants for Ethiopian Renaissance” at national level.
In his welcoming speech, Professor Fikre Dessalegn, Ethiopian Civil Service University President said this day is being celebrated to give thanks for the public servants for its great achievements and to create initiation for further activities. It is a day being celebrated by all sectors and institutions and motivates their employees to accomplish their missions at all level. Currently there are about 1.5 million public servants in our country. We have a great and specific mission to build the capacity of these public servants. We must also give a due emphasis on ethical principles and internalizes them both an individual and institutional level, professor Fikre underscored.
Ato Ayneabeba Andualem, Director of Reform and Good Governance Directorate, on his part said it is important to strengthen our effort and enhance our service delivery and we must stand together to fight the rent seeking activities. Today we learned a lot about service delivery and increase our contributions for the development of our country; the success of the civil service reform significantly contributes to the success of the rent seeking struggle in the country Ato Ayneabeba added.
The day was celebrated mainly by question and answering contest organized by Reform and Good Governance Directorate. On the program ECSU instructors, consultants and administrative workers participated.
