ECSU community celebrates 8th national Flag Day
ECSU community celebrates 8th national Flag Day at the main campus of the University on Monday, October 19, 2015. Dr Hailemichael Abera president of the University in the occasion said that when we celebrate flag day we give great importance to one thing that is ‘renaissance’. Renaissance means renewal. That means transforming from poverty to middle income society. Our big enemy is poverty and ignorance; while celebrating the national Flag Day, we as a nation commit ourselves to the national growth and transformation plan, said Dr.Hailemichael.
Dr Haile Michael added we must be a University which has objectives, and a teacher, consultant and student who have objectives. He finally wished all the University’s community a successful academic years.
The hoisting of the national flag was led by the University president, Dr Haile Michael Abera.
The nation marks the day under the theme: “Ethiopia: A country that has been working hard to raise its flag and realize its renaissance with public participation.”
This year’s celebration is unique as it will be marked in the aftermath of the fifth general elections and commencement of the second Growth and Transformation Plan .
