ECSU Ethics And Liaison Directorate Trains Graduating Students
Ethiopian Civil Service University Ethics and Liaison directorate organized a half day training for graduating students of the University on issues of Ethics, Anti-Corruption, and Revised Law of Anti-Corruption on May 20, 2015 at Abay Hall of the University.
The coordinator of the training, Ato Gebre Tibebu, ECSU Ethics Liaison Directorate Director, said that the objective of the training is to equip the students on issues of ethics and anti-corruption and prepare them for the fight in the subject. Our students are civil servants. So when they go back to their respective regions, they are expected to be members of the national anti-corruption movements and give services devoid of corruption and rent seeking.
At the opening of the training ESCU Vice president for Research and Community Services, Ato Birhanu Belayneh, said that the training will create awareness to our students on the proclamation about corruption and other issues related to ethics. So we need our students to be leader of anti-corruption campaign at country level. Academic courses must be related with such kinds of trainings. "In your area be member of anti-corruption campaign and speed up Ethiopian renaissance. ", Ato Birhanu said in conclusion.
The training focused on the Concept of ethics, concepts of corruption and its character, and on the ideas incorporated in the revised law of corruption.
In addition to the training, a film that depicts how corrupt leaders and managers are caught in the web of corruption has been broadcasted.
