ECSU HAMU Gives Training
Ethiopian Civil Service University HIV/AIDS Management Unit trained Eighty Ethiopian Airport Enterprise staff members on basics of HIV/AIDS and Gender Issues for four consecutive days from January 10- 23, 2017 at ECSU.
On her opening speech Miss Salsawit Assefa said the attention given to HIV /AIDS is dimensioning from time to time. But as recent researches show, its transition is increasing due to the negligence observed in the past few years and a new HIV/AIDS prevalence records has been registered. Therefore it is very important to engage actively in awareness development works at all level. This training is organized with the aim of enhancing and refreshing our knowledge on HIV/AIDS, stand for further strengthening our efforts to stop the spread of the epidemic, Miss Salsawit Assefa underscored.
Ato Dawit Wassie representing the Ethiopian Airport Enterprise staff members on his part said such kinds of training has significant role to awake the efforts of all concerned body in struggling the spread of the epidemic at all time and places including working areas. He also requested the trainees to participate actively and forward their ideas freely and share their views and experiences.
The training was mainly focused on basic concepts of HIV/AIDS, its prevention mechanism and gender related issues. It is also believed that the training has a significant effect on helping the trainees to main streaming the issue of HIV/AIDS and gender related issues on their work area. On the training the trainees have the opportunities to participate actively during the discussion time and forward their ideas and experiences.
The training was organized by ECSU Centre for Cross-Cutting Issues Training and Consultancy HIV/AIDS Management Unit and given by Miss Salsawit Assefa, consultant at HAMU.
