ECSU Holds the Third National Conference
Ethiopian Civil Service University held the third national conference from July 3 to 4, 2017 at the main campus of the university. The conference was held under the theme “Public Sector Transformation and Development”.
In his opening speech, Dr. Almayehu Debebe, Directorof Center for Research in Ethics and Integrity representing the Vice President for Research and Community Service welcomed the participants. He said that the Ethiopian Civil Service University worked hard to build the capacity of the public service sector through teaching, training and consultancy for the last two decades. Building capacity by itself is a continuous process and needs relentless dynamic efforts. Considering this process, a continuous learning is our core value, we learnt a lot through our teaching process and now we have reached at givingPhDcourses Dr. Almayehu said.
He also explained that it isthe third conference after ECSU newly established Research and Community Wing under vice president office. Besides conducting problem solving researches to federal and regional public institutions and dissemination of the scientific research out puts is a core service for the Research and Community Service wing. Throughour FM 100.5 radio station we intensified our relation with the local community,Dr. Almayehu added.
On the conference, thirty eight research papers were presented, among these, thirty five papers were carried out by ECSU staff members and the rest three papers presented from other higher educational institutions selected as a result of call for paper. All the papers have direct relevance to the major research focus areas of ECSU.The papers were organized in two sub thematicareas “Public Sector Development, Governance and Cross-cutting Issues” and “UrbanDevelopment”
The conference was organized by Ethiopian Civil Service University Research and Publication Coordination Office. On the conference ECSU community, regional and federal public sectors and higher institutions academicians were participated.
