ECSU President Discusses with Deputy Head of EU to AU
Professor Fikre Dessalegne, Ethiopian Civil Service President, discussed with H.E. Riccardo Mosca, Deputy Head of Delegation European Union to the African Union on further strengthening the bilateral relations of ECSU and Kehl University in Germany on January19, 2024 at Hidasse Hall.
The President welcomed H.E. Riccardo Mosca, Deputy Head of EU Delegation to African Union and University Scholars and students from Kehl University, Germany. He added: ‘I am pleasured to see scholars from different background and different countries which is a valuable input for working together in the areas of public services. ‘’
The president said that as a higher Institution, one of ECSU strategic plan is partnership, internationalization and networking, so we have interest to further strengthening the tie with Kehl University. As we see, the progress of masters’ program in public Management in International relations which we started in collaboration with kehl University is one of the successes that has brought by collaborative effort he added. He also explained the overall strategic plan of ECSU on the Internationalization and partnership and the interest of working together in different areas with Kehl University.
Dr lemma Gudissa, ECSU Vice President for academic affairs, on his part, welcomed the Delegates and explained the strengthening of collaboration between the two institutions in different aspects in the future .He also noted that to further strength the masters’ program and open PhD program in collaboration with Kehl university .Besides, he briefly explained the University’s vision, mission, and values to the representatives and his discussion with kehl university Rector on the bilateral issues .
Dr. Joachim Beck, Rector of Kehl University, explained that how the international cooperation creates a learning environment and understand different system of government and practices in each country and opportunities to understand the different cultures in different countries. He also explained that in the collaborative masters’ program five universities from four countries are working together and ECSU is one of the partner institute.
He also briefed that the two institutions have the same vision which are working on Public service capacity building. So it possible to work together in administrative culture and developed the two years masters’ program to PhD project he underlined.
Onur Yel, Counselor of culture and Press representing Germen Embassy in Ethiopia thanked the hospitality of the Ethiopian and Civil Service University. He also emphasized developing cooperation among different institutions is very important and wished the students for the successful accomplishment of the program.
Finally, Students raised different questions for H.E. Riccardo Mosca and he respectively answered the questions raised by the students.
