ECSU Students Cast Their Votes In The 5th National Election
Ethiopian Civil Service University students cast their votes in the 5th National Election held on May 24, 2015.Students who registered to vote in 2015 national election lined up early Sunday morning at the polling station of the University to vote for their leaders.
The election coordinator of the university, Ato Haymanot Feleke said that necessary preparation has been made and all facilities have been readied. Haymanot also said we have one polling station, and more than 1,500 students are registered .Commenting on the election process, he said, the students are casting their vote freely and peacefully.
Ethiopian Civil Service University Students council president Dargo Hafti said that students participate actively to elect their representative of their region. Voting is right to person, so we are happy that the Electoral Board of Ethiopia created this opportunity to vote in our University.
James Damo and Mulu G/Medhin students of the university said that the election is free and fair. We prepared very well for the election and now we are at voting station to elect what we want.Everything is going well. Voters’ registration, election official and observers reached on time, distribution of election material has been held successfully said Halima Ali, one of the observers of the election.
In democratic election beyond the right to vote and to be elected, citizen should carry out their responsibilities for success of the process.
Democratic election assures that the people are the only source and owner of power. In Ethiopia, this types of election is held in every five years.
