Ethiopian Civil Service University Colorfully Graduates Students
Ethiopian Civil Service University colorfully graduated 1740 students with PhD, Masters and Bachelor degrees on July 16, 2016 at Abay Hall in the main campus of the University in the presence of Her Excellency W/ro Aster Mamo with the rank of Deputy Prime Minister Coordinator of Good Governance and Reform Cluster and Minister of the Public Service and Human Resource Development, other higher government officials, representatives of the embassies and the University Community.
Guest of honor Her Excellency W/ro Aster Mamo with the rank of Deputy Prime Minister Coordinator of Good Governance and Reform Cluster and Minister of the Public Service and Human Resource Development said she is happy being with the University community in happiest day. She also congratulates the University community for the achievements. On behalf the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopian Government, I promise to extend supports in your efforts to fulfill your goals, she also said. ‘’To speed up our Renaissance voyage your role is indispensable. Considering this, the government is giving great emphases to strengthen the capacity of Human Resource Development. We give priority to build the capacity of the public service to realize our development policies and strategies", W/ro Aster underscores.
Ethiopian Civil Service University open a new chapter to achieve our goals for the last two decades in building the capacity of the public service through specialized education and training and make the public servants support and actively involve in the economic development through building a strong public service in the country. Our higher institutions work eagerly to implement the second growth andtransformational plan and uphold our transformation by conducting problem solving researches and participating in their community development, she added.
In his opening remarks, Ethiopian Civil Service University President, Professor Fekadu Beyene congratulated the graduates for their biggest achievements. He said you are climbing new heights of success, You are primary drivers in the economic development of the country .The knowledge ,skills and attitudes you have got while staying in our university and in your life time change in to real world .You are an ambassadors for our university and you could play a great role for the development of democratic society , peace and development in every aspect of the society.
‘ECSU has played a key role in the development of the civil service and in building the capacity of government officials in the country. Besides, we are giving scholarship to the neighbor countries` civil servants to strengthen the already existing people to people relations. We work hard to make our university become center of excellence in public service capacity building, he added. At last he thanked the university community, partners and graduation committee.
Guest of honor of the ceremony, H.E W/ro Aster Mamo, has handed out awards and degrees for graduates and Gold medals to distinct graduates. The graduates presented a gift to the university. The programs concluded with the national anthem of Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia.
The University graduated 1740 civil servants with first , second and third degrees and among the total number of graduates in the 2016 academic year, 539 were female.
