Ethiopian Civil Service University DLC Hosts Microfinance Training of Trainers
Ethiopian Civil Service University Development Learning Center hosts the 8th offering of the Micro finance Training of the Trainers ( MFTOT ) under the title "Money Management Services for the Poor" on January 11,2012.The participants of the conference are from GDLN sites in Bangladesh, Ethiopia, Japan, Mongolia, Nepal, Sri Lananka, Tanzania, and Uganda.
Thirty three male and two female participants drawn from different microfinance institutions in Ethiopia attended the training. Five of the participants are from Ethiopian Civil Service University.
According to the organizers the objectives of the training is to strengthen the institutional capacity of microfinance in the Asia-Pacific region and African region. The course makes high-quality microfinance training accessible to decision-makers, professionals and practitioners in the field of microfinance and increases the number of accredited microfinance trainers in the Asia Pacific region and around the world.
This Videoconference presentation is the second videoconferencing session which is scheduled to be held monthly. The course features a unique, blended approach consisting of:
1. Self-paced study using the Microfinance Distance Learning (MFDL) package developed by UNCDF.
2. Online tutoring and e-discussion.
3. Meeting with international microfinance experts through for 3-hour videoconference sessions at selected GDLN centers
4. Local courses in selected countries will be available during the same time period
