Ethiopian Civil Service University Graduates Students
Ethiopian Civil Service University graduated 342 students with Masters and Bachelor degrees on February13, 2016 at Abay Hall of the University in attendance with His Excellency Ato Adamu Ayana, State Minister of the Public Service and Human Resource Development, and Federal Regional government officials and the University Community.
Guest of honor His Excellency Ato Adamu Ayana, State Minister of the Public Service and Human Resource Development said that ECSU played a pivotal role in building the capacity of civil servants who are implementing government policies and strategies. He also said by identifying problems in the public service,and conducting researches, the University design new educational programs, provide trainings and consult public service institutions in reforms which brought a cumulative effect in the transformation of the country. Ato Adamu congratulated the University community for the efforts they employed to help graduate the female students who joined the University from the four emerging regions. He also honors his Excellency Ambassador Dr. Hailemichael Abera who supported the special admission program of female students from the inception to the graduation.
In his opening remarks, Ethiopian Civil Service University Educational Affairs Vice President, Dr. Samson Kassahun said that the University delivered specialized educational programs which are not given in other universities. The University, by designing specialized educational programs and supporting the public sector in researches, trainings, and consultancy and community services, is contributing to the development of the country.
Dr. Samson also said the University is striving to produce competent civil servants who are equipped with the necessary knowledge, skills and attitude to fight corruption and rent seeking attitudes and practices and cop up with civil service problems in the country.
Finally he congratulated all graduates, to their achievement of years of hard work and marks the crucial progression, and the University community and families of the graduates.
Ato Adamu Ayana has handed out degrees and awards to graduates.
Out of the total graduates, 300 civil servants have graduated with second degree and the rest have graduated with bachelor degree. 33 female students who joined the university in special admission program from the four emerging regions -Afar, Gambela, Benshangul Gumiz and Ethiopian Somali have also graduated.
