Ethiopian Civil Service University Graduates Students
Ethiopian Civil Service University graduated 258 students with Masters and Bachelor degrees on March 4, 2017 at Abay Hall.On the graduation ceremony His Excellency Ato Tagesse chaffo Minister for Ministry of Public Service and Human Resource Development said Ethiopian Civil Service University has enormously contributed in building the capacity of the civil servants and over all structural development of the civil service sector for the last two decades. In addition to enhancing the development of the civil service of our country, ECSU is also striving to contribute to build the capacity of the neighboring countries by training their civil servants. In doing so it enables our country to have a good relationship with East African countries, Ato Tagesse Chaffo added. He also reminded the graduates that the government has conducted deep renewal forums across the county to address the demand of the society and he requested them to exert their utmost efforts by combating mal administration, rent seeking activities and corruption to realize the desired changes.
Finally Ato Tagesse Chaffo thanked the university community for exerting their relentless effort in teaching and giving trainings for the civil servants and urged to further strengthen its effort in the future.
Professor Fikre Dessalegn Ethiopian Civil Service University president on his part congratulated the graduating students for their efforts. He said that Ethiopian Civil Service University has trained and graduated more than 28000 civil servants in the last two decades. It has also given short term training and consultancy for more than 50,000 participants. Besides, ECSU is also trying to work hard to reform the public sectors by conducting researches in its research and community service wing and benefited the local community from it. In his message, Professor Fikre Dessalegn encouraged the graduates to put in practice what they have gained during their stay at the university and serve the community and their country at large.
On the occasion Ato Tagesse Chaffo handed out degrees and awards to the graduates and different entertainment programs were presented to the audience.
Ethiopian Civil Service University is now providing trainings to over 3000 students in six PHD, twenty five masters and eight first degree programs. Currently it trains about two hundred students recruited from East African country.
