Ethiopian Civil Service University Graduates Students
Ethiopian Civil Service University graduated more than 1531 students with Bachelor, Masters and Doctoral Degrees on the 7th July 2019 in the presence of His Excellency Ato Bezabih Gebreyes, Civil Service Commission Commissioner, and other higher government officials, representatives of the embassies and the University Community.
Ato Bezabhi, on the occasion congratulated the graduates the family of the graduates and the university community and gave working directions to the graduates.
He also mentioned that since its establishment the Ethiopian Civil Service University has been discharging its mission in building the capacity of the public sector through its different specialized programs, short term training, consultancy and research and community service. The University has been instrumental in the implementation of the Civil Service Reform Programmes and played a key role in the development of the civil service and build the capacity of government officials in the country.
Ato Bezabhi appreciated the University for providing scholarship for neighboring countries Civil Servants and urged the University to continue its commendable efforts of assisting the neighboring countries in particular and African countries in general in their human development efforts.
Finally he urged for the employees and graduates to participate and support ambitious plan to plant seedling launched at the national level and play great role to save the environments.
In his opening remarks, Ethiopian Civil Service University President, Professor Fikre Dessalegn, congratulated the graduates for their biggest achievements. He said, “you are climbing new heights of success, you are primary drivers in the economic development of the country .The knowledge, skills and attitudes you have got while staying in our university and in your life time should change in to real world and serve the community and the country at large.’’ He also reminded them to be ambassadors for their university through their good service and virtues.
The University has been supporting the government efforts to improve the civil service sector by opening new programmes, strengthening the training and consultancy services and conducting problem solving researches. Professor Fikre indicated that, since 1995 the University has graduated over 35,000 civil servants that contribute to the development of the country and played a key role in the development of the civil service and in build the capacity of government officials in the country.
In order to be competitive and an educational institution of choice ECSU is working hard to enhance its internal capacity and modernize itself to meet its mission and able to answer the timely demands of the public services ,Professor Fikre underscored.
Guest of honor of the ceremony, Ato Bezabh, handed out awards and degrees for graduates and Gold medals to graduates with distinction.
