Ethiopian Civil Service University Hold a National Conference
Ethiopian Civil Service University Research Publication and Coordination Office organized a two days national conference from June29-30/2015 in the University`s Renaissance Hall. Some two hundred participants from Regional civil service Bureau, Universities and federal agencies and ECSU staff participated in the conference. In his welcoming remark Dr. Teshome Tafesse, Head of Research Publication and Coordination Office said the University conducts researches and disseminates the outcomes to policy makers, development partners and concerned bodies. Dr. Teshome noted that more than 20 research projects focusing on public sector reform and transformation and other issues are in the pipeline.
Ato Birhanu Belayneh, Vice president for Research and Community Services in the occasion thanked the participants for taking their time to attend the conference despite their busy schedules in their respective institutions – federal and regional government offices. He added ECSU`s researches which emanate from the vision of the University are rigorous and problem solving. The research out puts would add values in the public service reform and ethics and integrity and widen its partnership with domestic and international organizations particularly with regional and federal institutions.
Ato Adamu Ayana, State Minister of the Federal Civil Service Ministry expressed his happiness to attend the event. " I feel greatly honored to be here and be able to convey a message. Ethiopia is undergoing major development efforts and change has been registered for the last 10 years " , he said. He hailed our country as one of good example of a country with high development which gives us a great impetus to keep on what we have been doing in all aspects- in universities, civil service organizations, private sectors and civil societies. The role of Civil Service University in developing the human resource in the public sector particularly, in producing leaders of all levels which the country lucks for many years is immense, said Ato Adamu.
Dr Hailemichael Aberra, president of the University in conclusion thanked the organizers of the conference. Dr. Hailemichael added that it is the government`s directions to hold researches that support the transformation of the country. He calls up on the universities, regional and federal government offices to conduct joint researches and hold conferences.
