An experience sharing workshop on managing careers and enhancing performance of graduates of ILG held
The workshop was opened by the ECSU President Dr. Hailemicheal Abera. After underlining the importance of the workshop Dr. Hailemicheal said
“ Learning without thinking is useless and thinking without learning is a waste of time.”
The main purpose of this one day workshop programme is to reflect on what could be the mechanisms in the civil service to place students after their graduation.
General Director of Administration and Civil Service with the French Ministry of State Reform Decentralization and Civil Service, Eric Roty presented his country’s experience. During the workshop Roty briefly shared the French government’s recruitment and evaluation systems of civil servants for Institute of Leadership and Good Governance (ILG) graduating class.
Director of the ILG, Dr. Waqgari Negari, said that such workshops enable the graduates to be effective leaders in the public sector at all levels. He further said that
" from the workshop the graduates would gain knowledge, skill and -experience required to face the future challenges of the leadership at regional, national and international levels."
Elsa Meressa, a graduating ILG student from Tigray Regional State, said that she is ready to implement the knowledge she acquired during her two years study at the ECSU Institute of Leadership and Good Governance and tackle lack of good governance.
