GHPCD gives Research proposal Writing Training
Ethiopian Civil Service University Gender and HIV/AIDS Prevention and Control Directorate gave a half day training on research proposal writing techniques for 2019 prospective female graduating students and students with disability on 29 November 2018, at Hidasse Hall. On the training one hundred forty two female and eighteen male students participated.
According to W/ro Abay Akmachew, Director for Gender and HIV/AIDS Prevention and Control Directorate, the training was organized to refresh students on techniques and methods of writing research proposals. With this great objective, the training program has a great significance to help students to develop their research proposal writing skill by refreshing what they have learned in the normal class learning time. We have also planned to give consecutive training on data analysis and report writing techniques, how to present research papers and how to defend while presenting research papers in the next training programs, W/ro Abay added.
The training was given by W/ro Abay Asnake from College of Urban Development and Engineering. She presented the major approaches and procedures that should be taken into account during research proposal preparation and writing. The trainees on their part raised different questions and she gave detail explanation for them.
In another issue, Gender and HIV/AIDS Prevention and Control Directorate has launched a voluntarism program to support students with disability in the university. By facilitating this voluntarism program two volunteer students will assist one student with disability in their day to day activities. It is pointed out that this voluntarism program contributes a lot in helping the students to achieve their goals.
Currently, about thirty students with disability are attending their education in ECSU. Gender and HIV/AIDS Prevention and Control Directorate is working on different issues to alleviate the problems that female students and students with disability face during their stay at the university and tries to increase the number of graduates.
