HAMU Provides TOT to 54 Anti-AIDS Club Member Graduating Students of the University
HIV and AIDS Management Unit of ECSU gave a two days Trainer of Training (TOT) to 54 ECSU anti-AIDS Club member graduating students drawn from different institutions of the university from June 27-30, 2014. Among the participants of the training, 21 were female and the rest 33 were male.
The theme of the training was "HIV/AIDS Mainstreaming in the Work Place " and "Networking " was also included as sub theme. The training believed to enhance trainees’ knowledge, skills and attitude that would build their capacity on how to mainstream issues of HIV/AIDS in their work place. The training also provided practical insight for the participants on how to actually implement mainstreaming HIV/AIDS in their work arena.
The participants reflected the benefit of such training and commended the mode of delivery of the training, which was supported by practical examples. They also expressed their readiness to actually involve in mainstreaming issues in their work environment.
Moreover, the participants suggested HAMU should continue its efforts in order to boost access and quality of mainstreaming HIV/AIDS interventions activities through various modalities including awareness raising and sensitization workshops, and similar capacity building trainings to ECSU community. Head of HIV/AIDS Management Unit, Ms. Wubalem Arefaine and Training and Research Coordinator, Mr. Anteneh Mekonnen of HAMU, facilitated the sessions.
