HAMU Provides Training on “Basics of HIV/AIDS” to Administrative Staff of the University
HIV and AIDS management Unit provided a half day training for twenty five administrative staff of the University who are drawn from different departments the University on February 12, 2015.
The training, which was conducted on Basics of HIV/ AIDS, is believed to give a comprehensive knowledge on the prevention and protection methods of HIV/AIDS.
Ms. Wubalem Arefaine, Head of HAMU, opened the session by welcoming the trainees. She stated that providing training and education to the University’s community is one of the objectives of HAMU. To this effect, various trainings have been provided to address the information needs of the community.
She also added that
" the purpose of this training is to provide comprehensive information on the basics of HIV/AIDS such as ways of transmission, risk factors predisposing to HIV, prevention strategies and major impacts of HIV/AIDS on individuals and workplaces."
The training was given by Ms. Wubalem Arefaine Head of HAMU and Mr. Anteneh Mekonnen, Training and Research Coordination Officer respectively.
The trainees were actively participating by sharing their experiences, raising questions and reflecting on topics discussed.
