Hamu Trains Ethiopian Customs And Revenue Authority Staff
HAMU trained thirty young male and female Ethiopian Customs and Revenue Authority Staff of Arada Branch on SRH/ HIV and AIDS for three consequent days, from November 10 -12, 2015.
In the opening speech, Ms. Wubalem Arefaine, Head of HAMU welcomed the trainees and appreciated their organization for the attention it has given to SRH /HIV & AIDS. She said SRH /HIV & AIDS is an issue that is affecting the lives of many individuals especially youngsters. So you as a citizen have a lot of responsibilities to change the lives of the society. So consider this training seriously and participate in every possible way in your family and community to change their beliefs on SRH /HIV & AIDS.
Dr. Girma Alemayehu who is a gynecologist at ESCU Students’ Clinic gave training on Sexual Reproductive Health (SRH) with special emphasis on Family Planning and Sexually Transmitted Diseases (STDs).
Ms. Kumneger Fikre, Social Mobilization and Mainstreaming Expert of HAMU, provided Basics of HIV/AIDS and Life Skills training which especially capacitate trainees in protecting themselves from SRH/HIV & AIDS.
The trainees said that the group discussions, presentations, and other participations helped them to acquire the desired knowledge, skill and attitude towards SRH/ HIV and AIDS.
The trainees were actively participating by reflecting their views, personal experiences, and asking questions in all the training sessions. Moreover, they were given different topics related to SRH /HIV & AIDS to work in small groups and present their work for the class.
