HIV/AIDS Management Unit Trained ECSU Staff Members
HAMU gave half day training on “Basics of HIV and AIDS” for 20 new staff members and 17 administrative staff members of Civil Service University in two rounds. The training mainly focused on awareness creation about HIV/AIDS, the transmission and prevention mechanisms of the disease. Besides, the proper way of using male and female condoms also demonstrated for the trainees.
Some of the trainees said that they have never seen female condoms before the training; so it helps them a lot to know about ways of using condom properly and effectively. They also said that the training enhances their knowledge about HIV/AIDS.
During the discussion the trainees share their personal experiences which was very significant for the trainees to learn one another. The trainees were actively participating on different topics raised during the discussion and engaged in the discussion by asking and answering questions. Some of the trainees discussed freely and openly about HIV/AIDS issues during their tea break. At the end of the training, the trainees forwarded their genuine comments about the training which will lead the ways for HAMU to come up with a superb ideas and presentations for the next HIV/AIDS training session.The training was presented by Ms. Kumneger Fikre, Social Mobilization and Mainstreaming Expert of HAMU and the new HAMU staff member Ms. Salsawit Assefa consultant on HIV/AIDS.
