Hungarian State Secretary Gives Lecture on Public Administration
State Secretary of the Ministry of Public Administration and Justice of Hungary, Dr. Marcell Biro in a public lecture he gave at ECSU on June 17, 2013 said Hungary’s public service has achieved a lot in public administration through effective, economical, efficient, safe and adoptive strategies in the state.
As Dr. Biro emphasized all the programs in Hungary are not resistant to change. They are open to reform so that they could be more efficient and successful. One of the reform activities was providing better public services to civil servants, Dr. Biro added.
When asked how they tackled corruption, Dr. Biro said that they regularly surveyed government institutions. They also received feedbacks and reports of corrupt activities from the public. Dr. Biro added that
" they provided training to civil servants so that they could be aware of the serious and complex problems corruption causes and cooperate with the government in fighting against it."
