Induction Training Given for New Academic Staff
Two days induction training on Teaching learning, Assessment and Counseling was given to the new academic staff members starting from October 30, 2014 to October 31, 2014 at Development Center (DLC) by Center for Academic Professional Development (CAPD).
Ato Ayneabeba Andualem, CAPD Director, welcomed the new academic staff members before the training started and announced that the whole purpose of the induction is to introduce the work culture of the university. Besides this, the training will help a lot to the trainee especially for the academic staff who came from international universities to know about the curriculum of the university in particular and the country’s in general. He emphasized that the training also helps to share experiences among the new staff members who joined the University recently. In addition, as he said in this training you will get some experiences from us and also we get some experiences from you, so we can take this training as an advantageous training for the trainee and trainer.
The training focused on topics: Concept of Curriculum, Active Teaching Learning Strategies, Active Teaching -Learning Strategies and Assessment, Assessment Techniques and Counseling.
According to the trainees, the training will help them a lot for the improvement of their carrier and understanding of the work culture of the university and they expect such kinds of training even in the future.
