International Civil Service Day celebrated
Ministry o f Public Service and Human Resources Development , Ethiopian Civil Service University and Ethiopian Management Institute jointly celebrated the 10th International Civil Service day on 6 September 2016 with the theme “By realizing Ethiopia we are dreaming, good governance for all rounded development” at ECSU Abay Hall. The program included recognizing best Performers, Change Army teams, Directorates and Institutes and Centers.
On her opening speech W/ro Aster Mamo With the Rank of Deputy PM Coordinator of Good Governance and Reform Cluster and Minister for Ministry of Public Service and Human Resource Development said this day is celebrated with the aim of enhancing and building the spirit of the civil servants for further strengthening our endeavors in growth and development of our country and discharge our great responsibility with commitment and devotion to serve the public and the country at large. It is also a day that we give recognition and acknowledgements for the best performing Workers, Directors, best Change Army teams and different sections of the university for their outstanding effort and motivation and the outcome they registered by the year 2008 E.C. We are also proud of the double winners best performers for their consecutive years achievements W/ro Aster added.
The Public service sector plays a very great role in the transformation and renaissance of our country. To fulfill this great responsibility, public servants need to have a professional quality, developmental attitude and awareness on the government polices and growth directions. To build the capacity of the civil servants many activities have been done in the past years and measures have been taken to get out of traditional ways of working. Different reform programs have been prepared and distributed for all sectors to build good governance, fair and transparent ways of working environment. This in turn enables us to build developmental public servants in institutions and the country at large. To solve the problems of good governance at federal and regional level, our sector is working hard in its organizing role more than ever to create a good, fair and transparent service delivery which satisfy the public at large W/ro Aster underscored.
Finally W/ro Aster expressed her heartfelt thanks to the organizing committee for the colorful preparation of the ceremony.
On the occasion different entertaining programs such as music and poem presented to the audiences and certificates and cups awarded to the best performing Workers, Change Army teams and Directors.
