MoU Signed between ECSU and PPPA
A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between ECSU and the Federal Public Procurement and Property Administration Agency (FPPPAA) to work together in the area of professionalization. According to the MoU, signed on Tuesday, October 29, 2013, ECSU, by providing trainings and in so doing by raising the professional status of professionals working in the area, will help satisfy the Federal PPPAA’s need to improve the procurement and asset management capacity. The trainings are expected to increase the credibility of public procurement and asset management system across the country and also to develop procurement and asset management practitioners’ ability to put into practice basic procurement principles and deliver best services. By building the capacity of the professionals it is hoped that there would be less shortage of trained manpower in the area.
The MoU was signed by President of ECSU, Dr. Hailemichael Aberra and Tsegaye Abebe, Director General of the Federal Public Procurement and Property Administration Agency.
Tsegaye Abebe said,
“The document of the MOU has been carefully scrutinized by both of us and we have agreed to sign it.”
He said the MoU is the first step to move forward in building the capacity of professionals in the area.
Dr. Hailemichael Aberra on his part expressed the university’s interest to work together with the agency to come up with the required results. He said the university is happy to involve in the modernization of the country’s procurement and property administration.
