Research and Community Service Inaugurates Research Resource Center
Ethiopian Civil Service University, Research and Community Service inaugurated the newly established Research Resource Center on November 26, 2020 at the presences of researchers and academia.
On the inauguration program, Dr. Alemayehu Debebe, Vice President of Research and Community Service, welcomed the researchers and academia participated in the program and noted that the center is rich in resources and become available for the academic world in the compound. This shows that the library is coming to us with huge resources instead of we are going to the library. He also stressed the need to use these resources wisely and thanked all individuals who contributed to the establishment of the center.
W/ro Amelework Wube, Director for the Library and Documentation Directorate, on her part said that the library has been organized properly with a large electronic resource that researchers, teachers and students in the university compound can access these resources easily. This lessens the effort needed and the time spent to get these materials so far. In order to make these resources available, the university has spent a huge amount of money and it is expected of every researcher and the academic staff to use these resources for their researches as well as teaching learning activities and contribute for the high citation of the university thereby upgrade the university’s status in the academic world, W/ro Amelework added.
During the event, it is indicated that ECSU library has 31 subscribed e-journal databases, 55,000 e-books, more than 1,500 e-thesis and dissertations and 6 international online databases connected with ECSU server, and can be access using the local network.
