The Second Round Leadership Development Program Training Given
The second round Leadership Development Program training was given to Ethiopian Civil Service College and Ethiopian Management Institute middle level managers in two rounds by United Kingdom National School of Government consultants. The training was held at EMI conference hall from 18 -22 October and from 25-29 October, 2010 respectively and ten participants from each, ECSC and EMI took part in the training.
The aim of the training program was to build internal leadership and management capacity within the two institutions and to support their leadership in responding to and planning for future challenges and to develop and strengthen the capacity of their staff to deliver leadership and management training.
The Leadership Development Program focuses on the three roles that leaders are expected to play. These are: providing direction for the organization, delivering results and building capacity of the organization to address current and future challenges.
The training was given in a more interactive ways that participants were actively participating in small group discussions and presentations. The participants are given assignments on “Driving Force and Challenges of change” and “Change at Individual and Group level”. They will present their assignments on the symposium to be held next round.
