The Seminar and Research Review Workshop Held at ECSU
Ethiopian Civil service University Center for Research in Ethics and Integrity prepared a half day Seminar on February 25, 2016 with a theme " Business Ethics and Practices " at Hidase Hall of the University`s main campus. Faculty, graduate students and other professional staff attended the seminar. Dr. Alemayehu Debebe, Director for Center for Research in Ethics and Integrity in the occasion welcomed the participants on the behalf of the Center. He also thanked the presenters for coming to the seminar leaving aside all their personal businesses.
Ato Birhanu Belayneh, Vice President for Research and Community Services thanked the presenters for sharing their knowledge and experience on the subject. He also said ethics is the most important input in doing business. Any business activity which is not run ethically is not sustainable, according to Ato Birhanu.
W/ro Gizeshwork Tessema Managing Director of GIZE PLC and representative of African Business Community Anti- corruption Struggle, Ato Nuredin Ahmed, Advisor for State Minister of Trade and Ato Solomon Afework, President, Ethiopian Chamber of Commerce and Sectoral Association speaks in the subject.
The topics raised during the seminar were wide-ranging and included different issues .The seminar presenters received certificates at the end of the course, after a closing speech by vice president for Research and Community Service, Ato Birhanu Belayneh.
In the words of the participants, the seminar was important and got information on rights and responsibilities on different issues related to business practices.
In a related development, Research and Publication Coordination Office organized a research review workshop aimed at presenting research findings on two themes – Public Policy and Development and Governance and Cross-Cutting issues from February 24-25, 2016 at the ECSU’s new building of School of Diplomacy.
In the research workshop, a total of thirteen papers were presented. The topics the papers covered included the Achievements, Challenges and Prospects of Education and Training Services of Ethiopian Civil Service University, Policies of Gender Equality in Ethiopia, The Transformative Perspective, and The Effect of Civil Service Reform Programs on Human Resource Management in Addis Ababa City Administration.
